Thinking of the future
Forward thinking and careful planning by Church High's governors and management has always been well-received and supported by the school community. It has resulted in, amongst other things, a phased programme of building and re-development.
Milestones already introduced this century have included a new Art and Home Economics block, a state of the art IT suite, a purpose-built Sports Pavilion, a Learning Resources Centre that has transformed the former gym and refurbishment of the sixth form facilities.
The Junior School has seen interactive whiteboards fitted to all classrooms, a dedicated science laboratory and IT suite, and considerable refurbishments of classroom and library facilities.
Welcoming new ideas
Even with this record of recent developments, Church High is not complacent and new ideas from girls, parents and teachers are actively encouraged. One of the most important aspects that puts Church High in the forefront as a progressive school, is our ability to support a culture of change and promote continuous improvement at all levels.
As one of the oldest independent schools in the North East, Church High has a long history with strong traditions, which will continue to benefit all the girls who journey through the school for many years to come.
